Our core principles

Three core principles underpin everything we do.  Whatever challenges we take on, our response will always be driven by:

Client focus The only sure way to achieve sustainable success is an unwavering dedication to the interests of our clients. Read more

Global vision We are internationalist in outlook by background and by nature. We serve clients of all sizes and bring the wider perspective which goes beyond the expected and reduces the unexpected. Read more

Innovation A knee-jerk claim for many, innovation is for us a day-to-day reality. Read more

Client focus
At Kissmann Langford, client focus is the central reality of our professional lives. Helping deal with often fraught, even intimate issues, the boundaries between personal and professional can get fuzzy. Yet even when client focus blurs into something arguably approaching counselling, it's unlikely to faze us. We've been here before.

But at a more mundane, though no less important level, client focus has less to do with empathy than sheer hard graft. We are committed to doing our homework: gaining deep knowledge of the industry and the organisation, embracing the challenges it faces and the aspirations it pursues. We develop a profound understanding of the client's world, so that we "live it" every bit as much as they do and can combine an outsider's perspective with an insider's knowledge.

It also means putting the client first - always. For ethical and personal reasons, certainly, but also for professional ones: we only succeed if our clients do. If they don't thrive, nor do we.

Global vision
Whether a project calls itself local, national or international, we are firm believers in bringing the outside world in, learning from stakeholders, benchmarking competitors and even organisations in other fields of endeavour, and going the extra mile.

We are internationalist in outlook by background and by nature. Both Edna and Martin have spent a fair share of their professional lives outside the UK, and Jocelyn has worked with international clients for thirty years. Between us, we speak at least six languages.

Reputations do not respect borders. Communications in today's blog-rich and YouTube world are impossible to contain. And barriers are often thrown up by the client organisation itself, just when it needs them to disappear.

We work closely with many colleagues who enrich our thinking and our offer. We also participate actively in an alliance of like-minded companies called FirstLine Europe. And we are happy to work alongside any other consultancy or consultants, provided our contribution is truly valuable and valued.

Innovation
We are innovators by inclination but also by necessity. Despite our collective experience, most situations involve something we haven't seen before. When confronted with a unique and unprecedented situation, what can you do but something new?

At the same time, we do question whether a situation or challenge is genuinely different - the wheel has been invented enough times...

We pride ourselves on being open-minded, inclusive and completely incapable of settling for an inadequate standard solution. We strive for the new, the unique, the better answer.

We see bigger issues with wider and more personal ramifications increasingly emerge 'from left field' - and from anywhere in the world. Our ability to feel at home anywhere and think on our feet regardless of the situation has helped us to deliver the kind of fresh thinking our clients need.
